Enjoy America's First Gluten Free Oatmeal Cookies!

I know a lot of people on gluten free diets have started to eat gluten free oats, but I have been hesitant for awhile. When I first was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, gluten free oats were not an option and I had ingrained into my consciousness not to eat wheat, rye, barley, and oats!

So, the idea of eating oats seemed wrong even when it was shown that oats are naturally gluten free when uncontaminated by gluten.

However, I tried oats for the first time last week. I purchased a box of Glenny's Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies. The result: I loved them and even better I did not feel sick. It was so nice to be able to once again taste the flavor of oatmeal, a taste I had almost forgotten.

Glenny's
makes two varieties of gluten free oatmeal cookies: chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin. Not only are their cookies gluten free (made with certified gluten free oats) but they are dairy free and kosher, as well. They also contain no trans fats or hydrogenated oils.
The cookies are the perfect snack, as they are soft and chewy and contain only 55 calories per cookie.

They happen to be a bit pricey at about $12 for a box of 20, but that is what gluten free oats will cost you and at least, in my opinion, they are worth the price!
