Last week I checked out the restaurant, Sweetwolf's, in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

They are known for their "Gluten Free Mac N Cheese" and cook mostly using rice flour so many of their menu items are gluten free or can be altered to be gluten free.

The Gluten Free Mac N Cheese (photographed to the right) is made using quinoa pasta, wood fired lobster chunks and has a sesame cracker crust.

Sweetwolf's is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday - Sunday.  They are located at 492 Sixth Avenue between 12th and 13th streets.

Georgetown Cupcake!

Not many mainstream cupcake shops accommodate a gluten free diet, however, Georgetown Cupcake does offer one gluten free cupcake!  It is a gluten free version of their signature Lava Fudge cupcake.

The Gluten Free Lava Fudge cupcake (photographed above) has a chocolate cake with a rich fudge core and is topped with vanilla icing, a fudge star drizzle and an orange fondant flower.  I recently tried it at their new location in SoHo and it was delicious!  They even made sure to change their serving gloves when getting me the gluten free cupcake to prevent cross-contamination!

Georgetown Cupcake currently has locations in:

  • Georgetown - 3301 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20007
  • Bethesda - 4834 Bethesda Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814
  • New York - SoHo - 111 Mercer Street, New York, NY 10012
They will be opening a store in Boston, MA this spring and in Los Angeles, CA in the fall.

Las Delicias - Gluten Free Baked Goods

When walking around Park Slope, you'll find that the brand Las Delicias makes an assortment of gluten free goods that are sold at many local cafes throughout the area (Crespella, Red Horse Cafe).

I have tried many of their delicious gluten free products including their brownies, blondies, muffins, and cookies.  My favorite items are probably the ginger muffins or the banana walnut muffins.  The triple chocolate brownie (photographed to the right) that I tried not too long ago was very good too!

For more information, please visit their website at or check them out at Crespella (321 7th Avenue - btw 8th and 9th streets) and at Red Horse Cafe (497 6th Avenue at 12th street).
