Last night, I was able to try a great restaurant called Nice Matin on NYC's upper west side. The restaurant is open everyday for breakfast, lunch (on the weekends brunch), and dinner. The best part is that they have a gluten free menu!The gluten free dinner menu includes a variety of hor d'oeuvres, salads, and sides. The entrees are as follows:
*Pan Roasted Chicken Breast
[quinoa, roasted corn, scallions, cranberry beans, cucumbers, & chicken jus]
*Chicken Paillard
[red & yellow endive salad with haricots verts, fennel, grapefruit, tomatoes & white balsamic vinaigrette]
*Duck Magret
[broccolini preserved lemon & fingerling potatoes with peach compote]
*Atlantic Cod
[ragout of Hudson Valley tomatoes & summer squash with roasted tomato broth, tapenade & basil aioli]
*Moules Mariniere
[white wine sauce with tomatoes, herbs & rouille]
*Pasta Forte
[bacon, dandelion, tomatoes, ricotta, garlic & jalapeno]
*Grilled Salmon
[grilled asparagus, quinoa tabbouleh, eggplant puree, harissa & zucchini pesto]
*Red Snapper
[lemon sabayon, artichokes, peppers, olives & capers]
*Grilled Leg of Lamb
[tomato salad with summer beans, red onions, imported feta cheese & pesto]
*Veal Escalopes
[shitake mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, fresh thyme, garlic, swiss chard & marsala wine sauce]
*Hangar Steak Au Poivre
[braised spinach & pommes puree]
*Five Napkin Burger
[sauteed onions, comte cheese & aioli on Katz's gluten free kaiser roll, served with salad]
I had the Duck Magret for my entree and it was absolutely delicious!
For dessert, they had a great selection of gluten free items including:
*Vanilla Creme Brulee [mixed berries]
*Dark Chocolate Pot Au Creme [chantilly cream]
*Almond and Coconut Ice Cream
*Champagne Grapefruit Sorbet and Vanilla Yogurt Sorbet
*Berries & Cream
*Cheese Plate
I had the Dark Chocolate Pot Au Creme which tasted like a rich mousse.
